There was a bomb threat at Saint Clair Square yesterday afternoon and the mall was evacuated and closed for the rest of the night. According to the Belleville News Democrat, Fairview Heights Police Lt. Mike Hoguet said the mall was declared “safe and secure” at 8:30 PM and no bombs were found. Fairview Heights police responded to a phone call threat shortly before 4 o’clock. The mall was then evacuated and approximately 10 minutes and then the search began, including police dogs from various agencies. No injuries were reported during the evacuation either, which included everyone being asked to leave the parking lot. Authorities continue to investigate the incident to identify and locate the caller. Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact the police department at 489-2130.
