Kaskaskia College recently held a GED graduation ceremony in the Lifelong Learning Center for 31 students and even recognized a Nashville individual for his services.  Many were from Centralia, but there were multiple graduates from Salem, Nashville, Vandalia, as well as other places with one.  Kaskaskia College offers a GED scholarship to eligible GED graduates.  The scholarship covers tuition and student technology fees and may be awarded for up to 48 credit hours as long as the student meets eligibility requirements and attends consecutive semesters.  Students Lisa Brown of Vandalia, Cynthia Gomez of Salem, Kayla Price of Centralia, Bethany Randolph of Iuka and June Ruscher of Kell were all named to the National Adult Education Honor Society.  Emma Chapman and Bernice Husher, both of Centralia, were both given a Certificate of Recognition in honor of academic achievement.  Will Summers of Nashville was also recognized for his services as a GED tutor.  The first step to enroll in a GED Review class is to attend an orientation session.  Orientations are scheduled in both June and July throughout the College District.  Call Traci Kapp at 618-545-3115 for more information.
