The Washington County Sheriff’s Office was busy in the last week, but they only assisted 2 motorists and 2 accidents. They assisted the Okawville Police Department on a report of a home invasion on Sunday, reported to a call in Addieville of domestic trouble, continued the investigation of stolen road identification signs in the county after recovering some of them, responded to a call of 4-wheelers on the road in rural Nashville, reported to a call of trespassing in rural DuBois, responded to a call of anhydrous (an-high-drus) odor north of New Minden on Illinois Route 127, and responded to a call of domestic batter in rural Irvington, but no one was arrested. The WCSO also received a report of reckless driving in the Lively Grove Township area, investigated two reports of criminal damage to property in the Covington Township on Friday and responded to Charmin, Illinois for a report of theft of a check, which was cashed at a retail store in Oakdale. There is no mention of any arrest. They also responded to a call of an injured deer on Route 127, west of New Minden, received a report of debris on Interstate 64 in the eastbound lane at mile marker 50, took a report of burglary in Richview and began an investigation into it, made a welfare check on a child in Irvington, but all children were safe and healthy, and investigated the reports of soda machines being broken into in Irvington, as well as at Ashley Market.
