PADUCAH – Next week is Fall Severe Weather Awareness Week.

Christine Wielgos is the Warning Coordination Meteorologist at the National Weather Service office in Paducah. She says October and November can bring an increase in severe thunderstorms and tornadoes across our region and recent years provides several examples of this seasonal uptick in hazardous weather.

Wielgos says preparation and response are the keys to ensure you and your loved ones stay safe this fall.

You can check out severe weather safety and awareness graphics at weather.gov/pah.

Several graphics will also be sent out this week on Facebook and X (formerly Twitter).

A Facebook Live session discussing severe weather preparedness will take place Monday night at 7.
