CENTRALIA — A single-vehicle crash Thursday on Gragg Street in Centralia resulted in the 20-year-old driver being airlifted to a St. Louis area hospital for treatment of injuries he suffered.

According to Centralia police, around 4:30 Thursday, Oliver Candler was westbound on Gragg at a high rate of speed before crashing his pickup truck, causing to roll over and eject Candler into a rocky area.

He reportedly suffered head, neck, and back injuries in the crash resulting in Air Evac being dispatched to land near the scene to quickly transport Candler for treatment.

He reportedly told police there was a female passenger in his truck, but none could be found in a search by police, fire, and EMS personnel.  The female was later identified and located at home by Wamac Police.
