CENTRALIA — A 44-year-old Irvington woman was killed while working Tuesday afternoon in a freak work-related accident at Intermountain Electronics on Swan Avenue in Centralia.
According to Marion County Coroner Troy Cannon, among other things, Intermountain constructs large enclosures containing heavy electrical equipment for industrial applications. Trina Dennison was reportedly constructing an exterior wall of one of these units, working from the platform of a scissor lift, when the wall fell over against the lift, knocking it over and into its side.
Dennison was killed instantly in the fall to the floor.
Efforts to resuscitate her were performed immediately by staff and employees at the scene and by responding EMS from Centralia Fire Department and Lifestar personnel, but to no avail.
The incident occurred just after 1 p.m., with first responders remaining at the scene for most of the afternoon.
The investigation into the accident and fatality is continuing by the Coroner’s Office and OSHA.
The Spentel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland is assisting the family with arrangements.
