The Washington County Sheriff’s Office did not respond to many accidents or motorist assist calls this past week, as it was more standard calls. They did assist 2 motorists and responded to 1 accident, but the other calls included standing by for property exchanges, a child custody matter, welfare checks in Addieville and Ashley, removing debris from Route 15, west of Nashville, a burglary in Ashley and a suspicious vehicle. On Saturday, they initiated a traffic stop and arrested 24-year old Michael A. Reid of Nashville for driving while licenses suspended. He was also cited for speeding and operating an uninsured vehicle. On Thursday, the Wamac Police arrested Travis C. Maxfield of Centralia on an outstanding Washington County Warrant and was transported to the Washington County Jail. On Wednesday, the Sheriff’s Office received a report of suspicious activity in Ashley. A traffic stop was conducted on a vehicle being driven by 24-year old Adriana K. Bowers of Okawville for improper lane usage and failure to wear a seat belt. 26-year old Michael W. Nanney of Okawville was also warned for not wearing a seatbelt.
