The Nashville Chamber of Commerce held their monthly member meeting yesterday.  New Board members Alana England, Tom Speedie and Jim Dalaviras were introduced.  Director Kerri Huge reports she is sending out over 300 membership letters by the end of this week.  Guest Speaker Sherri Bassen with South Central Transit talked about the Demand Response Service in Washington, Clinton, Marion and Jefferson Counties.  She also talked about the shuttle bus service and routes available, as well as the cost of $2.50 per trip.  She says they have approximately 300 riders per month.  For more information on their routes and prices, visit www.southcentraltransit.org or call 800-660-7433.  In new business, the 2014 Chicken and Beer Dance was announced.  It will be on Saturday, February 15, 2014 at the American Legion Hall in Nashville.  Doors open at 7 PM, Bourbon Trail begins with live music at 8 o’clock and food is served at 9 PM.  Tickets are $20 each with no extra charge at the door.  The ticket includes the music and all you can eat chicken with all you can drink beer and soda.  Chicken is being prepared by the Eagle’s Nest.  There will also be the Wine Walk event held there.  Tickets will be available from any Board member or at the Chamber Office or by calling 327-3700.  It was also discussed about a new day of the week for the Board to meet.  They agreed to start meeting on the 1st Wednesday of the month instead of the 1st Tuesday.  The membership was asked if changing to a Wednesday would work.  Other ideas suggested were to have some meetings before work, maybe at 7 AM.  Another idea was to try to have the meetings at other restaurants in the area.  There will still be a couple of meetings at 5 PM.  Members are encouraged to call Kerri Huge with their suggestions.  The next General Member meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, February 11, 2014 at noon at Buretta’s Bar & Grill.   The guest speaker will be Attorney Tom Speedie, who will talk about some of the major new laws for 2014.
