Donald “Don” R. Bunton, age 81 of Salem, passed away on Tuesday, April 22, 2025 at Helia Healthcare in Salem with his family at his side.

Don was born on May 21, 1943 in Cardwell, MO, the son of John and Ethel (McQuary Burnett) Bunton.  He married Kay Lowery on November 4, 1968 in Mt. Vernon and she survives in Salem.

In addition to his wife Kay Bunton, he is survived by his children, Darren Bunton “Jake McCade” of Salem, Dawn Snow and husband Jason of Salem, Susan Hanson of Kansas, and Tammy Byrd of Springfield, MO; grandchildren, Brandon Snow, Austin Snow, Alexia McCade, Jon Bunton, Ashley Gomez, Brandi Wright, Nicki Esso; several great-grandchildren; and one sister, Thelma Wiley of FL.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and siblings, Gene Bunton, Lois Dodd, Ruth Cox, Bonnie Vest, Doyle Bunton, and Cindy Bunton.

Don worked for Egyptian Concrete in Salem for over 35 years.  He enjoyed fishing and woodworking.

A graveside service will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, April 26, 2025 at Bell Cemetery in Iuka with Claude Howell officiating.  Crouse Funeral Home in Salem is assisting the family with arrangements.  Online condolences can be left at www.CrouseFH.com
