Linda Rae Hanna, 80, of Kell, passed away at 8:10 p.m., Monday, January 20, 2025, at her home.

She was born December 6, 1944, in Kell, the daughter of Floyd and Mona Belle (March) Purdue.  In November of 1962, in Mt. Vernon, she married John Hanna, and he survives in Kell.

Mrs. Hanna was a graduate of Salem Community High School, and was of the Methodist Faith.  She worked as a rural mail carrier for many years.  She loved birds, plants, fishing and quilting, and made baby quilts for every family child.  Linda was an animal lover of any kind of animal, especially one in need of help, and through her entire life, she always had some kind of animal to care for.

In addition to her husband, John Hanna of Kell, she is survived by her children, Stuart and Linda Mae Hanna of Waltonville, and Carol Deann Hanna of Nashville, Illinois; four grandchildren, Samantha Meridith, Abigail Hanna, Melia Hanna, and Kayla Watkins; four great-grandchildren, Raden, Lily, Noah, and Lincoln Meridith;  and two sisters, Billie Bryant and Lucy Ervin.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Floyd and Mona Purdue; and sister, Carrie Sue Mount.

Graveside funeral services for Mrs. Hanna will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, January 23, 2025, at Purdue Cemetery, with Marty Mills officiating.  In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the Purdue Cemetery, and will be received at the service, or by mail to the Osborn Funeral Home, P.O.
