MT. VERNON – Chris Yenne was sworn in Monday as the City of Mt. Vernon’s new Fire Chief.
According to a post on the Mt. Vernon Professional Fire Fighters Facebook page, Chief Yenne began his career with the Mt. Vernon Fire Department on June 3, 2002, and was promoted from Firefighter to Lieutenant on Dec. 22, 2010. He was later promoted from Lieutenant to Captain on Feb. 10, 2017. On Aug. 21, 2023, Chief Yenne was named the Assistant Fire Chief.
Over the last 22 years, Chief Yenne has shown great strength, leadership and knowledge of the fire service in all his positions he has held.
