CLAY COUNTY — A 32-year-old Flora woman was arrested on felony drug charges over the weekend after Clay County Sheriff’s deputies stopped a vehicle she was driving and reportedly discovered a large amount of meth and fentanyl.

According to the Clay County Sheriff’s Office, Brittany N. Highsmith was arrested on charges of Class X felony Unlawful Possession with the Intent to Deliver Methamphetamine and Class 4 felony Possession of a Controlled Substance.

Reports indicate around 5:11 Saturday morning, deputies stopped a vehicle being driven by Highsmith – who they knew was wanted on an outstanding Clay County warrant.

Highsmith was taken into custody and a subsequent search of the vehicle reportedly resulted in the seizure of approximately 28.6 grams of suspected methamphetamine and two bags containing approximately 50 suspected fentanyl capsules (approx. 6.6 grams).
