MOUNT VERNON — Jefferson County officials are alerting motorists of the likelihood of traffic congestion on Broadway in Mt. Vernon Tuesday as the 34th Annual Run for the Wall comes through town.

Hundreds of motorcyclists with the annual run are expected to arrive in town around 10:30 Tuesday morning when they will refuel and then proceed to the Mt. Vernon Outland Airport for a donated luncheon from area businesses. They’ll then return on their journey east to Washington, DC.

Run for the Wall is an annual motorcycle ride promoting healing among veterans that calls for an accounting of all Prisoners of War and those Missing in Action. It honors the memories of those killed in action and supports our military personnel all over the world.
