WALNUT HILL — A 21-year-old Centralia man was transported to SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital for treatment of injuries he suffered in a single-vehicle crash Friday on Walnut Hill Road near Rebecca Lane.

According to the Marion County Sheriff’s Department, just after 4 p.m. Friday, Gavin Batson ran off the road, before hitting a culvert, going airborne, and striking a power pole in the air.

Batson was taken to SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital for treatment of injuries by Lifestar Ambulance.

Centralia Fire Protection District also responded to the scene.
