CENTRALIA — Centralia police continue to search for a 26-year-old man in connection with the shooting death of a dog outside a Centralia home over the weekend.

According to police reports, Jarvis Brown had been staying at a home in the 200 block of East Seventh in Centralia, where he was reportedly beating one of his dogs when it began fighting another dog.

Brown allegedly fired a shot at the animals, striking and killing one dog before he went back inside the home and ultimately left the area.

A 32-year-old resident of the home, 32-year-old Kelly Taylor-Schulte gave police permission to search for the gun inside the home where they reportedly discovered a weapon and multiple cannabis plants being grown inside the closet of a bedroom where her children stayed on weekend visits.

Schulte was arrested for the cannabis plants and taken to the Marion County Jail where she was later released on a recognizance bond.

Anyone with information on Brown’s whereabouts is asked to contact Centralia Police at 618-533-7602.
