JEFFERSON COUNTY — The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office has issued a public statement saying they’re increasing patrols in response to consistent and numerous complaints about speeding and other traffic violations in the county.
Sheriff Jeff Bullard says his agency successfully applied for a grant to help with the cost of stepping up patrols throughout the county between July 6 and July 31.
The sheriff’s office said they have joined together with the Illinois Department of Transportation and Illinois State Police to help stop speeding and other traffic violations and help ensure the public gets to where they want to go safely.
Speeding motorists will be pulled over by police, the sheriff’s office said. They will also step up patrols throughout Jefferson County from July 6th – July 31st.
