SALEM — Marion County Sheriff’s deputies arrested a 29-year-old Salem woman Monday night at her home on a warrant accusing her of murder.
Christina Bartley of North Broadway is being held in the Marion County Jail in lieu of a $1-million bond.
While the file won’t be unsealed until she appears before a judge, Bartley was a subject of an investigation launched last April after she allegedly shot her 31-year-old boyfriend Wesley Bivens to death in the home they shared but she owned.
According to deputy reports from that time, Bivens’ girlfriend called 911 around 6:30 p.m. the evening of Thursday, April 15, to report her boyfriend was coming at her, trying to hit her so she shot him.
She informed dispatch she would be waiting outside and had left the gun inside the house but her boyfriend hadn’t yet left the home. Upon arrival, deputies confirmed a black handgun was sitting on the “snack bar” counter in the kitchen of the home and Bivens was in the hallway of the home, deceased and on his back.
