The Washington County Sheriff’s Department responded to a few accidents in the past week. A couple of accidents were on Thursday, as one was in Okawville and they assisted the Okawville Police Department at a residence. 25-year old Taryn L. Sensmeyer of Okawville was arrested for Aggravated Battery and Resisting a Peace Officer. The other accident was the one occurring on Interstate 64 that we reported last Friday involving an Indiana man, who went off the road at mile marker 60.5. The third accident was on Saturday, as a vehicle driven by 42-year old Rochelle L. Crowe of Mount Vernon went off the side of Apricot Road and struck a utility pole. A passenger was transported to Saint Mary’s Hospital for treatment of her minor injuries. There was no mention of any citations being issued. The Nashville Police Department responded to several accidents in the past week as well. One was last Monday afternoon on the 100 block of South Washington at Doehring’s Pharmacy involving a fender bender. No injuries were reported and no citations issued. One week ago, there was an accident on West Saint Louis Street at South Bryan Street, as a vehicle driven by Ty Small of Highland was backing out of a driveway, when lumber on the vehicle struck a FedEx delivery truck driven by Rebecca Lawhorn of Nashville. There were no injuries and no citations issued. Officers responded to the Washington County Hospital emergency room on Wednesday afternoon, as there was a report that a juvenile was there after being struck by a vehicle. According to the report, a girl was crossing East Saint Louis Street at South Mill Street on her bicycle at the intersection and was struck by a car that ran over her foot. The car did not stop and continued southbound on South Mill Street. The car was described as a red compact car, driven by a young blonde female. The investigation continues. On Thursday, they responded to a fender bender in the parking lot behind Buretta’s. There were no injuries and no citations were issued.
