There were some problems a couple Saturdays ago with the electronic recycling involving the company’s desire to accept televisions.  On Saturday, April 11th, the Washington County Health Department sponsored the first of 4 electronic recycling dates.  Just about anything that plugs in to an outlet was accepted, but RNA Worldwide, the company that brings trucks in to load the items and then takes them to be broken down so the parts can be recycled in some way, reported that they did not want to accept televisions, reports Sharon Frederking, Director of the WCHD.  RNA is having trouble getting rid of the bulky televisions themselves to the company they send them off to.  She said RNA said this is becoming a trend throughout the industry.  Both RNA and the WCHD will be checking into alternatives, but as of now RNA will not be accepting televisions at the next 3 dates.  The next electronic recycling event in Washington County isn’t until June 13th, so they hope to have a solution by then.
