The Illinois Senate has approved a bipartisan measure that would allow terminally ill patients access to experimental drugs.  The Right to Try Act passed the Senate with a vote of 52 to nothing Thursday, one day after the House passed its version.  The legislation will soon head to Governor Bruce Rauner’s office.  Chief sponsor Senator Michael Connelly says he’s “pretty confident” the Republican governor will sign the measure.  The Republican senator from Lisle says the measure will give patients a chance to receive potentially life-saving treatments.  Rauner spokeswoman Catherine Kelly has declined to say whether he’ll sign the bill.  She says he’ll review the measure after he receives it.
