The Worldwide Youth in Science and Engineering state competition was held a couple of weeks ago and we reported that Nashville High School placed 1st in State at the University of Illinois in Champaign, but Okawville High School also competed in the Division 300 category and placed 7th out of 13 schools. Tessa Winkel placed 4th in Chemistry. This is a competitive series of tests created and administered by Worldwide Youth in Science and Engineering and offered to high school students in Illinois and Missouri and are designed to present a challenge to the brightest students. Test material is drawn from senior high school and freshman level college curricula. Subjects include biology, chemistry, computer science, engineering graphics, English, mathematics and physics.
