The Okawville High School Varsity WYSE team competed at the McKendree University yesterday and placed 2nd in Division 300 and will advance to the state competition on April 7th at the University of Illinois. This is a competitive series of tests created and administered by Worldwide Youth in Science and Engineering and offered to high school students in Illinois and Missouri and are designed to present a challenge to the brightest students. Test material is drawn from senior high school and freshman level college curricula. Subjects include biology, chemistry, computer science, engineering graphics, English, mathematics and physics. Individual medalists for Okawville were Tesse Winkel with a 1st in chemisty and 3rd in English, Nick Weber was 1st in engineering graphics and Zach Middnedorf was 3rd in chemistry.
