The Nashville High School Varsity WYSE team competed at the McKendree University yesterday and placed first in Division 700.  Freeburg High School placed 2nd with Wesclin High School placing 3rd.  Nashville and Freeburg will advance to the state competition on Tuesday, April 8th at the University of Illinois.  This is a competitive series of tests created and administered by Worldwide Youth in Science and Engineering and offered to high school students in Illinois and Missouri and are designed to present a challenge to the brightest students.  Test material is drawn from senior high school and freshman level college curricula. Subjects include biology, chemistry, computer science, engineering graphics, English, mathematics and physics.  Individual medalists for Nashville were Megan Hall who was 1st in English, Alex Orr who was 1st in chemistry & math, John Schroeder who was 1st in biology and 2nd in English, while James Waugh III was 3rd in engineering graphics.  Other varsity team members are Garrett Guest, Lucas Morgan, Blake Kasten, Joe Blumenstock, Kelsie Klingenberg, Nellie Snead, Mark Dalman, Alyssa Lohmann, Lexie Small and Shawn Rennegarbe.
