The Kaskaskia College Board of Trustees has approved the design and location for the College’s new state-of-the-art Nursing Facility to be constructed on KC’s main campus in Centralia. Located on the west side of the College’s west parking lot, the new 16,640 square foot nursing building will accommodate KC’s growing Licensed Practical Nursing, Associate Degree Nursing and Nurse Assistant programs as well as the Para-Medicine program. The Nursing Facility will house classrooms and instructional labs with the latest teaching technology in keeping with KC’s commitment to provide the resources for students to achieve their educational goals. With healthcare careers among the fastest growing in the nation, the new facility will allow the College to expand program and training opportunities to residents in the KC District. Construction for the Nursing Facility is being funded jointly through with college funds and a private fund raising campaign. This project will not affect the College tax rate. In addition, the new building will allow the College to utilize the current classrooms and labs housing the Nursing program to meet the demands of other growing programs on the main campus. Construction is expected to begin in the Spring of 2014.
