A 17-year old man believed to have eluded police following two separate high-speed chases last week was reportedly taken to the Marion County Jail after Wamac Police Chief Brooks Alcorn noticed what he says was a suspicious looking male on Hickory Street.  Alcorn stopped the individual and discovered he was a suspect in two fleeing and eluding incidents from the night before.  Parker Fields of Salem has been charged with two Class 2 felony counts of Possessing a Stolen Vehicle.  It started just before 8 PM, Wednesday night, when Central City Police first spotted a white 2001 Nissan Maxima four-door car that was reported stolen Sunday from the Huck’s store in Salem.  The officer attempted to make a stop, however, the suspect fled and the officer began pursuit, which continued into Odin, where Odin Police Chief Joe Nix joined in the pursuit.  Marion County Sheriff’s deputies would also join in the chase.  According to Nix, speeds on Odin Road reached upwards of 120 miles per hour before the vehicle left the roadway at Odin Road near the curve at Community Beach, rolling and taking out multiple trees.  The suspect fled the scene on foot.  A few hours later, just after midnight, a vehicle was stolen in the area where the first vehicle was crashed.  The owners of the 4×4 truck witnessed the truck being taken and reported it stolen.  It was spotted in Central City and a second pursuit began that ran through the streets of Centralia to the west side.  The driver took the truck off road, left it in a field and again fled on foot.
