Illinois Supreme Court Justice Lloyd A. Karmeier will administer the attorney’s oath to 112 new lawyers tomorrow in Carbondale.  All of the candidates have passed the Illinois State Bar examination and an ethics examination; and were certified by the Committee on Character and Fitness.  The Fifth District ceremony will be held at 2 PM at the Southern Illinois University School of Law Auditorium.  A reception will follow the ceremony.  The new attorneys will bring the total number of licensed attorneys in Illinois to approximately 94,000.  This number includes the 2,138 new attorneys sworn in at all ceremonies in the state’s five Supreme Court judicial districts tomorrow.  The Fifth Judicial District is comprised of 37 counties including Clinton, Franklin, Gallatin, Hamilton, Jackson, Jefferson, Marion, Perry, Randolph, Washington and Wayne.
